OUR BELIEFS
What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God. The Word is perfect, but it can, will, and does get interpreted incorrectly. The Spirit will lead us to all truth, but we are still a flawed creation in constant need our Lord to rightly divide scripture and to live lives worthy of Christ. We believe it to be necessary for growth, instruction, and wisdom.
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created all things and gives all things purpose.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, and that he lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and was raised from the dead on the third day, so that we might live with Him forever.
We believe that we were all born into sin, which is why we need to be reborn of the Sprit. This is salvation through faith, which is a gift of freedom from our sins made possible by the sacrifice and eternal life of Jesus Christ. We believe that you receive salvation through believing in Jesus, repentance, and public confession of our faith and that God is faithful to forgive us for our sins. Salvation is not received by works or deeds, but only by the shed blood of Jesus. Evidence of salvation is a life changed. Mercy and Grace are not for us to sin with the safety net of Christ’s love, but for us to walk more in His likeness.
We believe that water baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. It is a sacrament acknowledging the acceptance of Jesus as your Savior and should be administered to those who have been saved by grace through faith.
We believe the church is comprised of all believers with Christ as the head. Each member is equally important and gifted to help further the Kingdom of God. We believe that it’s important for the Church to gather together to learn, grow, and hold each other accountable.
We believe in the importance and the urgency of the great commission and that we are to continue to make disciples of all nations.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers. In the Kingdom of God there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, nor male or female, instead all are one in Christ Jesus
We believe in the real and imminent return of Jesus Christ.
We believe Hell is a real place that God does not want anyone to go. We believe that everyone has free will. Just as grace is extended to us all, so is the freedom to choose whether you accept or deny Jesus.
We believe that Holy Communion is a sacred time of fellowship with God where we remember the body that was broken and the blood that was shed for our sin. All are invited to partake, but it should be done in reverence, appreciation, and knowledge of its significance.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the active agent of God. We are not only Spirit indwelled but we can be Spirit filled. This Holy Spirit will produce the fruit of the Spirit and empower us to operate in the gifts of the Spirit which can include love, preaching, teaching, knowledge, wisdom, prophecy, faith, healings, miracles, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretations. but the greatest of these is love. Beyond the necessity of love, no one spiritual gift is more important than another, just as the various members of our bodies work together for the betterment of the whole. All gifts are given by God alone for the purpose of building, encouraging, and correcting his church as we all strive to share the light of God’s love to all of his creation.
We believe that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman that is to be a loving relationship which should mirror Christ and the church. We also agree that all human life is created equally, and everyone should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion regardless of their life situation.
We believe in the sanctity of life and value the lives of the unborn, the foster child, the orphan, the elderly, and all those in between.
